
The Correctional Service Commissioner Genera,l Fredrick Chilukutu says that insurance should be and is an important aspect of work-life.
The Commissioner-General is also encouraging staff not only to insure motor vehicles but also life and other valuable items.
“Insurance is an important aspect of our work life hence as you meet our officers around the country spread the knowledge,” he said.
“It is actually a wake-up call that we have a lot to insure, not only vehicles but our lives and other things too,” Mr. Chilukutu added.
Mr. Chilukutu also revealed that the entire ZCS fleet of motor vehicles is insured by the Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC).
The General was speaking when ZSIC Life Limited Managing Director (MD) Kennedy Siamuwele paid a courtesy call on him at Correctional Service Headquarters this morning.
And ZSIC Life Limited MD said that in order to enhance the long-standing working relationship between ZCS and ZSIC, the insurance company has prioritized ZCS in its operations.
Mr. Siamuwele added that ZSIC may have been slow in honoring claims before but over the recent past delays are a thing of the past.
“You may be aware of some complaints of delayed payments of claims by ZSIC but I can assure you of quick honoring of insurance claims to continue growing our relations, delays are a thing of the past,” Mr. Siyamuwele said.
The MD has since congratulated Mr. Chilukutu and his deputy Mr. Kuyomba Bwalya on their appointments as Commissioner-General and Deputy Commissioner General – Operations respectively.
